Gwinnett County is a northern Georgia county that is home to ten incorporated cities and is partially home to several more. Not all of these towns host Halloween events. However, those that do host events provide an array of different Halloween activities. There are ghost tours, haunted houses, community festivals and parties in Gwinnett County every year.
Lawrenceville, Georgia
Lawrenceville Ghost Tours is open summer, spring and fall. However, they have special hours for their ghost tours for the entire month of October. Instead of only holding tours on weekends, they have them every night, including Halloween. Their motto is, "Hauntings, history and horror." The ghost tours start at the Aurora Theater where guests can also purchase tickets.
Lawrenceville, Georgia's haunted house is called Terror in the Square. The theme of the haunted house is a 19th century psychiatric ward. Actors dress as criminally insane patients. According to the website, guests help conduct experiments on the patients and help "cast out their demons."
Norcross, Georgia
Norcross Ghost Tours are seasonal and are open during the Halloween season. Guests walk through Norcross while a tour guide tells them tales of alleged Norcross hauntings. Private tours are available for parties of ten or more.
Netherworld Haunted House in Norcross is a traditional haunted house. Actors, spooky sounds and lighting surround guests as they walk through the attraction. The layout is maze-like so guests have to find their way to the exit.
Duluth, Georgia
Ghost walks in Duluth happen on in the month of October. Duluth Ghost Walks are open daily during that time. The Duluth community also hosts family friendly Halloween festivities on the Main Street green and the Gwinnett Place Mall. Halloween on the Green includes face painting, a haunted theater and costume contest. The Gwinnett Place Mall's Really, Really Big Halloween Party is different each year, but is always family friendly.
Stone Mountain, Georgia
Stone Mountain is a community that is only partly inside of Gwinnett County. Every year, the community hosts the Pumpkin Festival at Stone Mountain Park. The Pumpkin Festival takes place on October weekends. There are such activities as scarecrow dressing, scavenger hunts, puppet parade, children's costume contest and a pie eating contest. The Stone Mountain Park also hosts A Tour of Southern Ghosts annually. The tour is a family friendly walking tour.
