Halloween Face Painting Designs for Kids

If you are making a Halloween costume for your child, you might want to skip buying a mask and use face paint to complete the costume. Not only is face painting for Halloween a more creative option, but it's also more safe. Masks can obscure vision and can also be hard to breath under. Face painting will not cause these problems.

If you don't think you have the talent to face paint, think again! Any design is a good design, especially at Halloween when anything goes. But, here are a few Halloween face painting ideas to get you started.

Witch Face Painting Design: A witch design is very easy to paint. All you have to do is apply one color all over the face then highlight the eyes. You might want to use gray or purple or green on the face, then add black around the eyes. You can also blacken the lips. To get an idea of how you can apply the face paint see these images: Witch 1, Witch 2, Witch 3.

Mummy Face Painting Design: If you are making a mummy costume for your child, you are much better off painting your child's face rather than wrapping it in cloth. The cloth will not stay put and it will be hot. To paint a mummy face, you can just paint the face white then draw lines to make the face look like it's wrapped. To see a good example of this design look at this mummy face. Here is a more simple mummy face that you can create.

Masked Boy or Girl Face Painting Design: If you don't really have a costume theme, you can always just paint on a mask. A face painted mask is very easy to design. You can see a nice version of a painted mask for a boy here. And you can see pretty mask for a girl here.

Dog Face Painting Design: A dog face is always a fun look for Halloween. All you need for a costume to finish the look is a pair of footed pajamas and a tail. There are many ways to create a dog face. It's basically a brown or black nose with some freckles and puppy dog eyes. It's also cute if you make the tongue sticking out. Here are just a few images to give you a head start: Dog 1, Dog 2, Dog 3, Dog 4, Dog 5.
