What better way to bring in the Halloween holiday than by making your own spooky ghosts? Especially fun if you have small children! Heres a great list of easy and inexpensive Halloween ideas to get you and your young ones in the holiday spirit. Best of all, they are made out of items found in most everybody's household! Pull out the scissors and paints, and have a great time!

Footprint Ghost

Materials:
Black construction paper, black marker or black paints, white poster paints, old lid or something to spread paint in.

Start by pouring the paint onto whatever you have chosen, just a thin layer is needed. Help your child dip their foot into it, and then step on the black paper lightly. Let paper dry. Use the black marker or paints to draw on a mouth and eyes. You end up with an adorable footprint ghost suitable for hanging! The grandparents will love it, and it makes a great little keepsake.

Ghost Windsocks

Material:
18" by 6" strip of white construction paper, white streamer paper, black construction paper, yarn, white glue, scissors.

Cut out three oval pieces from the black construction paper-these will be the eyes and mouth of the ghost. Then glue them on the 18" strip of white paper. On the other side of the strip, glue pieces of the white streamers to hang down all around as fringe. Then glue the ends of the white paper together, thus forming your ghost! Use string or the yarn to hang your ghost windsock outside. Great for making multiple ghosts!

Stuffed Ghost

Materials:
shredded newspaper, scissors, stapler, cotton balls, black marker or wiggly eyes(found in the craft section of any store) and paper, white

Use a pattern, either found or drawn, to trace and cut out two ghosts of the same size. On one, decorate ghost with mouth, nose and eyes, and then staple ghosts together, leaving the bottom open. Stuff with the shredded newspaper and then staple ghost closed. In the bottom of the ghost, poke some holes and hang streamers down. To hang, staple a small piece of yarn or string in the top of ghost. Great for hanging in the tress, off of a porch, or in your house!

Ghost Lollipops

Materials:
any brand of lollipops, white tissue, white string, black marker

Tie the Kleenex or tissue over the lollipop and secure with a piece of string or yarn. Draw on, carefully, eyes and a moth to make a ghost. Kids will love this awesome surprise!
