Halloween Ghost Tree Project

This simple Halloween craft project is inspired by those wonderful Easter eggs trees you see throughout the South. Little paper ghosts are the perfect scary addition to an ornamental tree in your front yard!

Kids, especially small kids will love making this Halloween Ghost tree!

To Make a Halloween Ghost Tree You Will Need:

White lunch bags, White paper, or small white Grocery bags

Scissors

Ribbons (orange and black)

Black permanent marker

Plastic Easter eggs

The first step is to break out those plastic Easter eggs you use every year for your Easter egg tree.

Now, to cover the Easter eggs and make them look like a Halloween ghost you need something white. I find that white lunch bags work well.

You can also use whit grocery plastic bags, white tissue paper, or even white paper towels. The plastic bags will hold up the best if it rains!

If you want to make permanent little Halloween ghosts for yoru tree that will last for years, use Zip Loc bags that you paint white with spray paint. (Use a Kilz white primer for best results.)

Now, whatever material you are using simply slip your plastic Easter egg into the center inside of the material.

Cut some 8 inch pieces of orange and black ribbon. Tie the ribbon around the base of the Easter egg and tie around in a knot with two loose end. Later these loose ends can be used to tie the Halloween ghosts to the tree.

Now, with a permanent marker or puff paint add the Casper like eyes and mouth of the ghost. Let this paint dry.

By the way, if you do not have plastic Easter eggs or can not unpack them you can use Styrofoam balls, wadded up newspaper, or even wadded up grocery bags to make the round head.

Now, be sure to trim the bottom of the paper or plastic bag to create the bottom of your ghosts. Straight across or wavy will be fine.

Finally, you are ready to hang your Halloween ghosts in your Halloween Ghost Tree!

To save any damage to the tree you can use the ribbon ends to tie the small ghosts into place. If you want you can also use push pins to pin the small Halloween ghosts to the tree.

Try to space you small ghost evenly for a professional look. This will of course be about like decorating a Christmas tree.

You can also make different sized and colored ghosts for a more whimsical Halloween yard décor effect.
