NECROPOLIS
Necropolis is located in Columbia, on the corner of College and Roger's, close to the Columbia College Campus. In its third season, Necropolis has built quite a name for itself. It was rated the number one haunted attraction in Missouri, and rated number twelve in the nation by Yahoo! Tickets are only eleven dollars (or get a discount by picking up coupons at Gumby's Pizza, Gotcha, KRCG, or Verizon Wireless), so be sure to check this one out if you're hunting for haunted houses this Halloween season. This haunted house is recommended for ages twelve and up.
Open: September 28-29, all weekends in October, and every night between October 26 and October 31. 8:00pm - 1:00am
HOUSE OF FRIGHT
The House of Fright, located at 1846 E. Liberty in Mexico, Missouri, is an eighteenth century style mansion turned haunted house. Go see Mr. Fright for only thirteen dollars per person or ten dollars for each person with a three dollar off coupon. Or, get a free pass through the haunted house by giving blood to the American Red Cross, who will be on site on October 30 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. This haunted house is family friendly, and open to all ages.
Open: September through October 31. Sunday-Thursday from 7:00pm-11:00pm, and Friday and Saturday from 7:00pm-1:00am.
13 HOUSES OF HORROR
Located at the Crooked Creek Campgrounds in Kingdom City, Missouri, this Halloween tradition is long running. Thirteen house trailers are connected together with thirteen different themes. It takes about half an hour to make it the full 1,000 feet from start to end. Take a free hayride to the site, and enjoy this frightful adventure. It is ten dollars for adults and six dollars for children under eleven. This Halloween attraction is appropriate for all ages.
Open: October 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29, and 31 from dark to midnight.
FEAR FEST
Located off the Midway exit, on the west side of Columbia Fear Fest is one of the scariest attractions in the area. You can visit the haunted house for ten dollars, or for five dollars more, you can visit the house and the Slash Masters Asylum. These attractions are safely prepared for the enjoyment - and fright - of all ages.
