What better way to celebrate the holiday than by making your own Halloween decorations! Heres a few that are easy, inexpensive, and fun for the whole family to do! They can be used to decorate both your house and outside, and everyone will be amazed at such unique ideas. Have fun!

Shrunken Heads

What you'll need:
apples, cloves, some rice, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 2 tsp. salt

Peel a large apple and soak it with the mixture of lemon juice and salt. This will prevent it from browning. Using a small knife or vegetable peeler, carve out the eyes sockets, a nose, mouth and ears. For the eyes, you can use cloves, whole, and the rice grains for the teeth. However, this is optional as it will look good even without these. sit the apples on a wire rack and let dry for about 2 weeks. You can rearrange the faces as the shrink and harden. They'll come out looking awesome, and there will never be any two alike! Quite a unique decoration that guests and family will love!

Garbage Bag Cats

What you'll need:
Black garbage bags, newspaper, rubber bands, electrical tape(black),orange marker, string

Stuff the top of a bag with newspaper, and then secure with a rubber band to form the head. Stuff corners of bag and then rubber band off so you have two ears sticking out. Cut the bottom of the bag all the way up to the rubber band to make streamers out of it, about every 2-3 inches. Paint on a face to complete your hanging cat. Poke a hole in the top for a string to hang it, and then cover hole with electrical tape to secure it. Great for hanging out in the trees or off your porch rafters!

Halloween Rocks

What you'll need:
Rocks, paint, black markers, raffia, silk leaves, glue gun, green pipe cleaners, tissues

For a pumpkin, paint the rock orange. For the face, use the black marker to make a jack-o-lantern. You can then glue leaves to the bottom to make it look like its sitting in the grass. Or, bits of tissue and raffia can be glued to the bottom to form a straw bed. You can add green pipe cleaners to the top of the pumpkin for a stem. You can also make ghost and spider rocks, and any kind of rock can usually be used. These are great for outdoor decorations, especially lined up along your walkway.
