"The Nightmare Before Christmas" is playing in digital 3D at the Castro Theatre located 429 Castro Steet, San Francisco, CA. You can call them at 415-621-6120. The show runs from October 23rd to November 5th, 2009. They have shows nightly at 7 pm, and 8:45 pm. They also have daytime shows Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday at (1:30), 3:25, 5:10. Tickets for adults are $10, seniors and kids are $7.50, and the matinees are $7.50 as well. (The matinees are in parentheses.) Oh, and they specify they are cash only, no plastic!
The Red Vic Movie House is showing "Pig Hunt" on both October 30th and 31st. Click here for the full movie description and movie times. This theater is located at 1727 Haight Street San Francisco, CA 94117. Tickets are $9.00 for adults and $6.00 for seniors and kids. The 2 pm show is bargain priced at $7.00.
The Clay Theater located at 2261 Fillmore Street San Francisco, CA 94115 is showing "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" at Midnight on Halloween. You can visit their site, or call them at (415) 267-4893. This is a standard for Halloween night, and many people go in full costume. I have never seen the movie, so I really don't understand the costumes or the tossing of the food that I have heard of. Enjoy!
Sadly, the Shock-it-to-me horror fest that has been at the Castro for the last four years will not run this year. They are looking for a new place to run this annual horror marathon, and will be back for October of 2010. Apparently this is a very popular event!
Here are some horror/thriller movies playing on and around Halloween, if you think you can handle it! Many theaters and online sites are not showing actual dates for these movies past September 24th, at the time this article is written. (Click the movie title for a link to Fandango to review it, and the theater name for the show times as they are updated daily.)
