Halloween in the Night: A Halloween Poem

Ann Placer
Pumpkins and apples, candy and pie
lots of children with fun in their eyes

Skeletons dancing with crows on their heads
goblins are out with eyes of red

goodies are given when children are sweet
for the one's they like are the ones they keep

with magical thoughts and sparkling eyes
children gather in the streets at night

leaves stir up in the evening wind
the sound of whistling is Octobers end

witches fly when darkness falls
spells are cast to make their calls

Shimmering costumes fill the streets
even parents dress for Halloween treats

it's merrymaking in a masquerade
this night is the night of a mysterious day
