Ghost Cookies
6 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons corn syrup
½ cup brown sugar
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
Melt butter, syrup and sugar in a saucepan. Mix together flour, baking soda, ginger and cinnamon. Then pour into saucepan mixture. Add milk and egg and mix well in saucepan.
Let it cool.
Then knead dough and cut into shapes with cookie cutters. I always do ghosts but you can do bats or cats or pumpkins. Then bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
I use frosting and put it in tubes. If frosting is white it is easy for ghosts. But you can color frosting black or orange if you are doing bats or pumpkins. I put red jelly beans for the eyes and use a knife to make a mouth. You can do the same on bats or pumpkins. Be creative.
Pumpkin Shaped Muffins

Orange and yellow food coloring

Jam
Cornstarch
No this is not cupcakes made of pumpkin but cupcakes that look like pumpkins.
Mix the dried egg white with water. Then add sugar and confectioner's sugar to it. Make a soft icing.
Color 1/3 of the icing in yellow and put it aside. Color the other 2/3 in orange.
Spread the muffins with jam. Then put the orange icing around the muffin.
Roll out the yellow icing and cut into triangles for eyes and ragged teeth for the mouth. Stick on the muffins.
Leave to dry 2-4 hours. These are adorable.
Witchy Ice Cream Cones
3 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
4 ice cream cones
4 big round cookies
Vanilla ice cream
Shoelace licorice
Jelly beans
Black colored icing
Melt chocolate in saucepan. Cut off top of cones and put it on the cookies. Put chocolate on top of cones and cookies. It should look like a witch hat. You can do this part in advance. Leave to set.Put ice cream on top of cookie. Put licorice around it as hair and jelly beans as eyes. Using black colored icing, make mouth and nose. Serve upside down on a plate but it can be picked up and eaten immediately. These are messy but very cute.
