Halloween Party Planning and Themes Guide

Sean Hein
Just like every other festival, Halloween is also the time of large scale parties and merriment, except it opens up a whole new world of opportunities and fun. In fact, it can be considered as the time for the most amazing fun parties. You get to dress yourself in gory costumes, you get to act stupid, and you get to eat goodies for hours.

What is really fun is that it has become a weekend long festival which does not end in a single night. There are different types of parties catering to different age groups and working classes. There are the not-so-scary parties designed for kids. There are the teenage oriented theme parties which is full of youthful merrymaking. Office parties like the Black and Orange theme parties are designed for a more professional party atmosphere. Who doesn't like to see their boss in a suit? The demands are huge and the choices are many. Even pets need dressing up for Halloween parties.

Needless to say, this opens up possible ventures for huge business opportunities. There are companies which specialize in Halloween party planning. These companies take care of every aspect of detail, starting from spookily designed party invitation on a blood stained letter and bat-mobiles to pick up guests, to decorating the venue in whichever theme you want and arranging for games and gifts, and of course, the alcohol.

Sometimes, these parties tend to become so huge that they make the local papers. Planning for such a fun but large-scale activity is fun, and at the same time tedious. In the year 2007 alone, the Halloween party planning business made a solid profit of around $ 53 billion in the US alone.

Themed parties have always held a special place among Halloween parties as it is an ingenious race for the party goers to dress their best to fit to a particular theme. Some of the common themes include Batman comic theme, The Not so Scary Halloween theme for kids, the Pirates of the Caribbean theme, the Black and Orange theme which adds class and formal dressing into the Halloween theme, the Addams Family theme and the Witches and Wizards theme style parties.

One of the best times to hold a magic show in a party would be in a Halloween party based on witches and wizards. If you and your friends are interested in live music, there is always the Dead Rock Star themed party. If you want to add some steam to the dance floor, there are always the Devils and Vampires theme parties. The list of dark fun goes on.

It has also become a tradition for some of the biggest party scenarios in the country to have a Halloween themed party all nights during the Halloween weekend. Some of the places which come to mind immediately are 6th Street in Austin, TX and the city of Las Vegas.

These parties do not only turn out to be remarkably colorful and high adrenaline filled merriment of the masses, they also mark a significant business achievement for the competing clubs and hotels, as word of the best parties definitely gets around. There are even awards for the best themed Halloween party and such.

People spend a lot of money on such parties and costumes, and hence what used to be a simple festival filled with home made costumes and food, has now become somewhat of a status symbol for the rich and also an excellent outlet for creative business ventures for everyone. Halloween has also become the highest revenue based festival next to Christmas, thanks to such brilliantly planned theme parties and events.
