Halloween Partying for Teens: How to Throw a Great Party

Traci Haug-Howell
Halloween is a time to party. Halloween is supposed to be fun and wild, yet safe. If you have teens and are looking for the perfect Halloween party ideas for your teen, this is the place to be.

The first thing you need to do is start a shopping list. You will need to decide if you want to make invitations or simply by them. If you buy them, put them down. If you make them, make sure you have orange paper. You will want to have streamers, so be sure to get black and orange streamers. When you go shopping, go down the Halloween aisle and grab anything you think looks cool. Be sure to bring your teens to ensure they like it as well.

If you are going to have a Halloween Party Dance, be sure to get a fog machine. This makes it eerie and a lot more fun when you are dancing. If you have a DJ, be sure that you include some decorations that you can put by his equipment to include him in on the decorations.

Food is always important. Get some fruit punch and 7-up and mix them into a large punch bowl together. Place some dry ice in the middle and watch it steam. If you want to make it creepy, put in green food coloring to cause it to look gross. Remember that if you use dry ice, do NOT use plastic.

Games are always fun to have available. You can use a piƱata or bob for apples. Be sure to ask your teens if they want games. If it is a dance party, you will not want to plan in games. You could have board games, such as Clue out for those who do not want to dance.

The main thing to remember when planning a Halloween party for your teens is to allow them to voice their opinions. Do not do anything that they do not want to have done. If you do, they won't have fun and ultimately the party will fail.
