Halloween, Oh How Keen
Halloween oh how keen
Kids dress up to make the scene
No scary goblins; no scary ghosts
A night of fun kids love the most.
Pretty princesses all in a row
Pirates and astronauts on the go
Cats and bats are all about
Look out, Big Bird, careful with that snout.
Cute little faces
In ladybug spaces
Spiderman, Superman and Funnyman too
No one is afraid of you.
Come on Moms, come on Dads
It is time to fill our Halloween bags
From pumpkin heads to pillow cases
Goodies are waiting at all the sweet places.
North, South, East or West
Halloween candies are just the best
Halloween, oh how keen
Now exercise daily to be healthy and lean.
Kindly
Good evening, Miss Peach, how nice of you to stop by
Kindly, please close the door behind you
Your visits are few and little chitchat exchanged
Are you well, feel neglected or a touch of the flu?
Miss Peach, please share my favorite wine
Kindly, please sit; tell me a story or sing a song
This season's wine batch is robust and strong
Vine strengthened and sweetened by morning's golden dawn.
As evening approaches and the moon turns to blood
Kindly, please stay the night and have supper with me
With talk of horrors and widespread wickedness
I fear darkness, roars of terror, chaos and catastrophe.
Have some more wine, dear, it will warm and settle you
Kindly, please wait while I make ready your room
Listen to them prowling, demanding and terrorizing
Morning will bring calm, ending darkness and gloom.
Hello, Inspector Tadman, hope you are well
Kindly, please close the door, sit and share some wine
Have I seen Miss Peach? No, not recently, not at all
She must be traveling with friends and doing fine.
Nice of you to visit, Inspector, please come again
Kindly, please say hello when you locate Miss Peach
Some friends have left and never returned
Big city lights call or a life on the beach.
Good evening, Miss Millie, how nice of you to visit
Kindly, please stay and share some wine with me
Do not go out in this November cold with gusty winds and snow
Your room is ready, supper almost; now share with me the wine and Brie.
Bird Beast
Yes, I am guilty
No doubt about it
Cut my head off
Throw me in the pit.
Was a horrible occasion
On All Hallows Eve
Enough brews later
I took my leave.
A happy sot, which I am
Passing time meandering around
Before my eyes my heart did stop
Have mercy you beast, as I fell to the ground.
Beseech you, I wonder
As eyes gazed me as feast.
What creature are you
A combined man and beast?
That night I engaged
In the fight for my life
The man-bird creature
Caused great stress and strife.
I swung my fists
As hard as I could.
I kicked and bit
But all for no good.
By morning's light
I did come to be
In a stock cell jail
With others like me.
Glory, I am alive
I am happy to say
What came of the beast-man?
Where does he stay?
A good cup of coffee
And all today's news
Should make me feel better
As I search for beast clues.
Giggling and pointing
From my cell mates came the batter
Turning I asked
Why of the chatter?
Old chap, you are the talk of the town
You beat up Mayor Parry
Nearly killed
His pet canary.
In silence he starred
With thoughts of disbelief
This is not so
I am feeling great grief.
The lesson for All Hallows Eve's sots and drunks
Designate your sober friend to monitor your brews
Stay away from all Mayors with pet canaries
Be gone the beastly birds, and you will not become the news.
