Halloween Pop Tarts? Trust Me, the Choc-O-Lantern Frosted Fudge is Boo-tastic!

Miss Fortune
Being someone that absolutely loves Halloween I am loving all of the early release items I am seeing in stores. I started posting pictures of them on my TwitPic account; you can check them out here if you want. When I saw Pop Tart's new Choc-O-Lantern Frosted Fudge pastries I let out a huge squeal in the store; Halloween Pop Tarts? What better way to enjoy breakfast with a frosted fudge Pop Tart that has little bat and ghost sprinkles on it! You can these 'raw', right out the package or put them in the toaster; I prefer them cold because I can never wait long enough to bite in to one of them and usually end up burning my mouth or tongue on the frosting. These are only going to be around until Halloween so if you are someone that loves chocolate, is in to Halloween themed things and loves Pop Tarts you are going to want to get these as soon as possible.

The downside to the Choc-O-Lantern Pop Tarts? Each pastry has 200 calories - that is per piece, not per sleeve. There are also 37 grams of carbohydrates, 5 grams of fat and 3 grams of protein. The overall taste is sweet but if you like the regular version of the frosted fudge then this is comparable but the bat and ghost sprinkles do give it a nice crunch. You do have to be careful when putting these in the toaster; if one of the sprinkles pops off it could end up super heating at the bottom of the toaster and letting off a horrible smell.

In addition to the Choc-O-Lantern flavor you can also get Frosted Pumpkin Pie; both of them are on the sweet side so chances are you will only be able to eat one of them (they are packaged two to a foil sleeve). There is also a Limited Edition Gingerbread but I have not been able to track these down in my area yet. I got the 12 count box (six packages for a total of twelve pastries) at my local grocery store for $3.00 but I had a .50 cent coupon that they doubled so I ended up getting it for $2.00. Not bad at all and I got a very cool sweet treat with awesome seasonal sprinkles. Now all I have to do is hide them from all the boos and ghouls!

Although I'm not a fan of Pop tarts for breakfast, this is a good review. I wondered who that was I heard screaming in the grocery store the other day.
