Fall is full of fun festivities for the family, and the Buffalo, New York and surrounding area has a whole list of pumpkin patches ready and waiting for you. In addition, you will find corn mazes, hay rides, pony rides, face painting, fresh fruit and vegetables, gift shops, snacks, refreshments, and much more. Below is a list to get you started on your fall festival retreats for 2010.

Awald's Berry Farm: (2195 Shirley Road, North Collins, New York, 14111) a great selection of fruits and veggies, including blueberries, red and black currants, raspberries, and, of course, tiny to humongous 400 lb. pumpkins. Awald's has a gift shop, refreshment stand and snacks. Their pride is their amazing pumpkin patch that is a yearly tradition for local families. The pumpkin patch is open from 9am until dark from the last weekend in September through Halloween.

The Great Pumpkin Farm: (11199 Main Street, Clarence, New York, 1403) a corn maze and a hay bale or straw maze (even a child-sized hay bale maze), the pumpkin patch, horse-drawn and tractor-pulled hay rides, a gift shop, snacks, refreshment stand, a picnic area, face painting, a petting zoo, pony rides, and farm animals. This is a great place for a fall birthday party.

Kelkenberg Farm of Clarence Center: (9300 Wolcott Road, Clarence, New York, 14032) the pumpkin patch, pumpkins, hay or straw bale maze, hayrides drawn by horses, refreshment and snack stand, picnic area, petting zoo, pony rides, and farm animals. The straw maze is open from 10am to 6pm on the weekends from Sept 27th through Halloween.

Spoth's Farm Market: (5757 Transit Road, East Amherst, New York, 14051) the pumpkin patch and corn maze, and fresh produce that is pre-picked. Get your apples, cider, and squash. They sell Halloween décor in the fall and Christmas trees and hand made wreaths in the winter.
