Halloween ReBorn - A Halloween Poem

DK Jordan
Halloween ReBorn

Gobblins and ninjas
Cowboys and ghosts
What do the little ones
Want to be the most?

Strippers and doctors
Presidents and bunnies
What do the big kids
Do to win money?

Candy and alcohol
Apples and chasers
Little use flashlights
Big ones use tazers

Once was a fun time
Now is quite scary
Would rather be evil
Than a princess or fairy

Oh, world what twists and turns
You have taken
The simplest of holidays
Have gone to the Jason's

Evolution occurs
The world still goes 'round
Good is still present
Amongst all can be found

So search for the little one
Deep seeded and hidden
Help revive simple spirits
And get rid of the wicked

I'll see you out treating
On Halloween night
I'll be the one
Preventing the fright

My costume is simple
My message quite clear
No frightful and mean
Happy Times are here

Nice one. This made me think of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire". Sometimes it feels like we are just cogs in the wheel but then again, every kind act has its own reward at some point. Hopefully there are still enough of us out there thinking along those lines or society itself will have one of those grand "shifts" or maybe people could start thinking for themselves instead of following like lame sheep as well...that be a good one.

If I dress up at all, I am always the 'tooth fairy' :-)
