Halloween Recipe: Edible Eyeball Treats

TheEntrepreneurDiva
Edible Eyeball Treats would be a kicker for any Halloween party or gathering, especially if there are children involved. For some reason children get a kick out of I used this recipe a couple of years back for a friend's Halloween party and her guests absolutely loved them!

Ingredients

Vanilla Pudding Mix
Food Coloring (optional)
Life Saver Gummies
Jelly Beans
Plastic Eggs
Egg Carton

Most of these ingredients can be found at your local grocery store, and the plastic eggs can often be found at a party store. Just think in terms of the plastic Easter Eggs that you buy around Easter time.

Step 1 - Make your Vanilla Pudding according to the instructions on the box. Now I use Vanilla pudding to make the white part of the eye, but if you want to be creative you could even use some food coloring to create different color eyeballs.

Step 2 - Open your bag of Jelly Beans and Life Saver Gummies. From here you are going to place a jelly bean (preferably black) in the middle of each of the Life Saver Gummies and place it in one half of the plastic egg.

Step 3 - Place the plastic eggs with the candy in it, in the egg carton so that they won't move. Then pour the pudding you have prepared, on top of the candy filling the eggs.

Step 4 - Once you have filled all of the eggs, place them in the freezer for about 3-4 hours or until firm. This will vary depending on what size eggs you use and how much pudding is in them.

Serving the Edible Eyeballs

Now because of the pudding base, you don't want to actually sit these treats out until they are ready to be eaten. If you don't then you are definitely going to have a pudding mess. But trust me if you are doing a party for children, then these little treats will go faster than you can say Halloween.

When it is time to serve them up it is best that you put them on a plate spaced out, because as the pudding gets warm with the room temperature they may begin to stick together.

Some people don't really like black Jelly Beans so you could actually use raisins as an alternative if you want. They are not too sweet and they won't take the taste away from the candy.

There is a lot of room where you can get creative with this recipe so if you don't have the ingredients, be creative and don't forget to have fun.
