Halloween Spider Candle Holders

Ann Siper
These Halloween spider candles are a great time to use a crackle finish to create Halloween theme. The combination of orange and black paint on these Halloween candles with a faux crackle finish looks spooky and is the perfect back drop for your favorite spiders!

So, if you have been looking for the perfect way to scare your Halloween guests with your favorite rubber Halloween spiders here you go!

To Make These Halloween Spider Candle Holders You Will Need:

Orange Paint

Black paint

Wood candle holder

Crackle medium

Rubber Halloween spiders

Hot glue

Black tapered candles.

The first step is to choose a candle holder; you know the kind that holds a tapered candle. If you need to use some old brass or metal candle beholders that are awaiting the garbage ma, then just prime them first with a spray on primer like Kilz.

Now, go ahead and paint on a base coat of your black paint. While this is drying you can work on reading those instructions on yoru crackle paint medium.

There are so many crackle paint mediums on the market today and each will have similar, but different directions.

In most cases you will find that once the black paint has finished drying on the Halloween candle holder you apply a coat of the crackle paint medium.

Once the crackle paint medium is dry you paint on a coat of the orange top coat paint.

As the top coat of orange paint dries you will start to see it crackle! Sort of like a little Halloween magic before your very eyes.

The reason this type of crackle paint project works so well for Halloween is that the orange top coat of paint cracks to reveal the black paint below!

I love it! Now, on to the spider details on this Halloween candle holder. I find tons of rubber spiders in craft stores as Halloween approaches. They are so cute and I am always on the hunt for great Halloween spider crafts.

So, heat up that glue. While you are waiting go ahead and insert a black or even purple candle into the Halloween candle holder.

Now, use a dab of glue placed on the underside of yoru rubber spider and attach about three to the surface of the candle or the Halloween candle holder.

This is a super fun Halloween craft you can sue year after year! Just pop those spiders off when the candle is burned down and save them altogether to reassemble next year for Halloween.
