Halloween Treats in Less Than Ten Minutes

Affordable and Fun Snacks for Your Party

Whether you're planning a small get -together or wanting to make your kids a Halloween snack in a hurry, there are plenty of quick Halloween treats that you can prepare in less than ten minutes. These are especially handy if you're planning a party by yourself and have minimal time to decorate and cook.

Green Rice Crispy Treats

It doesn't get much easier than rice crispy treats. Melt the marshmallows and butter, toss in puffed rice cereal and smooth out in a pan or on a wax paper, and you're done. Plus the recipe is usually on the cereal box. There are plenty of ways to make rice crispy treats look like Halloween treats, but the quickest and easiest is to simply add a few drops of green or orange food dye to your melted marshmallows. Toss on orange and black sprinkles, and the treat is finished. Another quick way of adding Halloween charm to your treats is by throwing candy corn into the mix. Lay down a thin layer of candy corn in the cooking spray oiled pan and smooth the warm mix overtop. When you cut the treats and flip them over, you'll have very festive rice crispies!

Wizards' Wands

Dip long, thick, twisting pretzel sticks into melted white or brown chocolate bark and allow them to firm on wax paper. Decorate the bottom "handle" with dark sprinkles while they're still gooey. Or, an alternative is to leave most of the pretzel showing and dip only the "handle" in chocolate.

Gore Kabobs

There are two major variations to this recipe, but it can be easily changed to suit your taste.

Peel the crust off of a few slices of bread. Tear each slice of bread in half and ball it gently. You don't want a tight, hard of dough. Slide about five little balls onto kabob stick. In the microwave, melt a few tablespoons of peanut butter in a small bowl for only a few seconds, stir in a few drops of red dye. Now pour it over the bread balls. Add strawberry jam for a true gory mess. Cool in fridge or freezer or serve at room temp.

As a healthier alternative, you can use balled melon instead of bread balls.

Halloween Trail Mix

Combine rice or corn Chex cereal with semi-sweet chocolate chips, a handful of candy corn, and peanuts. Other seasonal add-ins of choice are gummy worms and chopped gummy orange slices for more color. Melt a few tablespoons of creamy peanut butter for a few seconds in the microwave until it can be stirred as a liquid. Pour over the mixture. Add orange and black sprinkles. Toss mixture. If it's too sticky for your liking, gently sprinkle with powdered sugar as you toss.

Dirty Worms

Dip the lower half of a gummy worm into melted peanut butter. Roll it in finely crushed Oreo cookies. Serve as finger food on a platter of crumbs
