To Make These Halloween Wedding Invitations You Will Need:
Water color paper cards and envelopes
Burnt Sienna Water color paint
Raw Umber or Yellow Ochre Water Color Paint
Calligraphy Pen
Waterproof black ink
Pinking sheers
Pen and Ink Pen
Painter's tape or masking tape
To get started you need to transform your pain and boring white water color paper cards into a Halloween Wedding worthy card!
To do this you will need to lay each water color card flat out on your table. Now, use the painter's tape or masking tape to tape each card down.
You are only worried about the front of the blank wedding invitation. Tape off the three sides about 1/16th of an inch in from the edge.
Now, run a fourth piece of tape, finishing off the rectangle on the top side of the water color wedding invitation where the fold is. Again, place the tape about 1/16th of an inch in from the folded edge.
Press all the edges of the tape down.
Now, take each of yoru three paint colors and squeeze some out on a plate. Add a little water.
Now, play around with dabbing these on a scrap piece of paper with a paint brush or water color sponge.
You are going for a mottled aged paper look, like parchment paper.
Once you have your design or look ready start dabbing on the water color paper cards. The tape will hold them flat while the paint dries.
Now, once all paint is dry you can slowly peel off the tape.
Now you are ready to add the writing to your aged watercolor paper invitation.
You can use a calligraphy pen or try printing on your cards with yoru computer printer. Be sure to use water proof ink in your computer.
You can also use a pen and ink pen and some water proof ink to add some small details like bat silhouettes, pumpkins, and more to the bottom left corner of the Halloween wedding invitation.
Now, to finish off the edges of the front of the Halloween wedding invitation use some pinking sheers that cut paper to look like it as been ripped. Trim the two sides and the bottom edge.
Now you are ready to write any Halloween wedding information you want on the inside!
Let all of you ink dry and you are finished. Slide your Halloween wedding invitation into the water color card envelope and seal them shut with a scary sticker.
Try looking for bats, pumpkins, gravestones, or even witch stickers. You could even use some red letter wax and seal your wedding invitations the old fashioned way!
Be sure to use a Halloween themed wax stamp to seal the wedding invitations!

Post a CommentI just found the most AMAZING Halloween invitations for my Halloween 09 wedding. I had almost given up, as everything I had seen on the market was either really childlike or too creepy. HandyKane has a TIM BURTON like invitation scroll, it so PERFECT! Totally gives you the look and feel of Nightmare Before Christmas or Corpse Bride. We were spellbound to find them. When I got the invitations in the mail, they TOOK MY BREATH AWAY! The scrolls are aged, and look like something from centuries ago. The invitations are also timeless, so it could almost be like my fiance` and I are vampires that live forever, haha! You have to check these out, just check out HandyKane's site at www.HandyKaneWeddings.com or just HandyKane.com will lead you in to their site.
I also found this awesome dress that's frayed at the bottom, it's going to be the coolest wedding ever! I have already gotten a MILLION compliments on the invitations and accessories I got from HandyKane.com, people have told me
