In Campaign mode you are playing the actual game. You can either take on the enemies by yourself or you can enlist the help of some friends. I love this option because there are times that you don't want or there is no one else to play with. The game play difficulty level can also be changed to suit your playing needs and style. You can start out on the easy setting and work you way to the hardest.
Ok so you have completed the campaign mode or are just ready to try something different. Well you are in luck. You can battle friends in different areas of the game called maps. You can go toe to toe with each other to see who the best is. This can provide numerous hours of play.
A great thing about Halo 3 is that you can download extra maps from XBOX Live. This gives you more playable areas to choose from and helps to keep you from getting too bored with the same maps. This is great when playing against other players because you are able to pick your favorite places to square off in.
Online play is one of the most popular elements of Halo 3. If you are a Gold Member on XBOX Live and have your XBOX 360 hooked up to the internet, then you are set to battle people from all over the world. This is so much fun. You can chat with the other players as you play. This can help you out as far as teamwork is concerned. It's just fun to talk to the people you are playing with.
Playing online you can work in teams or you can play in games where it is everyone against everyone. There is also a capture they flag type of game too. Your rank increases with certain amount of wins and your skill level increases if you do well. Each match you play lasts around ten minutes or until some team gets 25 or 50 wins then the game is over. The amount of wins needed is determined by the type of game being played.
Parents can also change the online setting on the XBOX live account to suit their child's need. This is a great safety feature for parents with young children. You can set the gamer profile to family setting which is great for young children. It eliminates all the adult chatter that goes on in the other setting modes. Or you have the option to mute the other players that way there is no chance of hearing a cuss word of some other derogatory remark.
Overall Halo 3 is a great game that will provide hours upon hours of entertainment. If you have not already played Halo 3 or any other of the Halo games then I suggest you get yourself a copy and join in on the excitement.
