Halo-Halo for Summer - Filipino Dessert

A Filipino Refreshment

maya
Halo-halo is a classic refreshment during summer or can be a dessert here in the Philippines, halo-halo in English means mix. As the name says it's a mix of fruits and other ingredients that can go with shaved ice and condense milk, like pearl sago, nata de coco, gulaman, etc. A regular halo-halo is just plain mix of the said ingredients, and a special halo halo is with ice cream on top. Making it is just as easy as 1-2-3, usually preparing the ingredients takes time but its worth it.

Basic Ingredients:

Sweet boiled banana
Sweet boiled camote
Pearl sago
Gulaman
Nata de coco
Sugar
Shaved ice
Condense milk
Ice Cream to make it special

How To Make It:

After preparing all the ingredients, like cooking bananas, camote and the pearl sago or if there is already available in the market then its great and more easy.

Slice all the large ingredients in a size that will fit a glass or a bowl.

Then after preparing all of these put all the ingredients in a glass or bowl and then add sugar.

After putting all of that add the shaved ice, full the glass/bowl with shaved ice.

On top of the put condense milk and put ice cream on top.

How to eat it.

Eating is the easiest thing, its kind the messy at start but if you got used to it, it's going to be fun. Just mix it carefully so that the ice with not fall and it won't be wasted. As soon as the ice cream, shaved ice and the condense milk are all mix up then its time to eat HALO HALO special.
