Ham or amateur radio operators are a community of people who use transmitters and receivers to "talk" to each other. Anyone can become a Ham radio operator. There are many uses and learning how is easy.
The first thing you need to do is take the test to become a licensed Ham Radio operator. The test is easy and is given by other licensed operators. Once you have completed the requirements and taken the test you will receive your license and officially be a Ham Radio operator.
There are many ways to choose how to go about learning all you need to know for your Ham radio operations. Check your community for local clubs or classes offering instructions for Ham radio.
Learning to talk the talk will come with experience. Once you are on the air with your Ham radio, you can find a mentor or teacher that will be more than happy to show you the ropes. Finding someone to help a new Ham radio operator will be relatively easy in the Ham radio community.
