Hammacher Schlemmer Digital Photo Converter: Review and Where to Buy

T.K. Moyer
My family is crazy about pictures, and we take thousands of pictures. We have tens of thousands of pictures from when our children were little, and when we were younger. Of course all of these pictures were well before the advent of the digital camera when we actually used this silly little stuff called film. Enter the Hammacherr Schlemmer Digital Photo Converter. We have always wanted to be able to load our pictures into our computer, but using your typical scanner to do this would take years. Thanks to the new Hammacher Schlemmer Digital Photo Converter you can now make digital copies of your old prints quick and fast.

Compatability
The Hammacher Schlemmer Digital Photo Converter hooks into your computer seamlessly through your USB 2.0 ports. I have ran this device on Windows XP without a problem and so far it works with Vista and Windows 7. This device is pretty much plug and play capable and requires little knowledge of computers or scanners in order to be able to use it.

Ease of Use
To make a copy of your digital photograph simply place the photo in the device tray and slide the tray into the converter. Simply push a button and the device goes to work converting your old paper photograph into a digital reproduction on your computer.

Accessories
The Hammacher Schlemmer Digital Photo Converter includes everything you need to make quality digital photos. The device includes the USB cable, software for editing and cropping your photographs, and the tray that fits up to a 5x7 picture.

Cost
The Hammacher Schlemmer Digital Photo Converter can be found on Amazon.com for around $90-$120. The Hammacher Schlemmer Digital Photo Converter comes with a lifetime warranty.

Dislikes
Honestly the only thing I did not like about the Hammacher Schlemmer Digital Photo Converter was its size. I do wish that Hammacher Schlemmer would have concentrated on slimming down this piece of equipment a little more so that it would fit on my desk a little less noticeably. This is the first and only Digital Photo Converter that I have used that has worked as well as this one does.

Sounds like a great product. I have several shoe boxes filled with pictures that I was planning to scan, but like you said it would years. The photo converter would be perfect.

You know what? I am still a "film" girl. Something about loading and unloading the film cartridge, taking it to the photo shop - I love it - getting the phone call when they arrive. So, having said all of that - this is definitely useful info for me! Cheers.

I didn't know there was such a thing. I'm staring at the two trunks, holding my film, as I speak.
