Lonnie Hammergren was 12 years old when Peter, Paul and Mary achieved world wide notoriety with their hit "If I Had A Hammer". From that moment it became the theme song for the man who was to one day become the State of Nevada's 31st Lt. Governor.

Over 3,000 Nevadans and guests from all corners of the world who found themselves in Las Vegas on the 30th of October wandered through the endless assortment of memorabilia that Lonnie and his wife Sandy have collected over the last 34 odd years that Castillo Del Sol has been their home. Even 'Elvis' showed up!
The property is actually three homes combined, and thanks to the considerate neighbors, everything went off without a hitch. A fleet of assorted vehicles provided a shuttle service from the neighboring shopping mall car park and visitors lined the neighboring streets to gain admission to this remarkable home of Nevada History.
It had been some two years since the public last got to view Lonnie's collection which includes his own basement Sarcophagus in the form of an Iron Lung embellished with hieroglyphs, Liberace's Piano and Dressing Room (would you believe), not to mention his staircase. Tributes to Howard Hughes, Replicas of Space Shuttles, Space Stations and the roller coaster from atop the Stratosphere are just some of the memories and images visitors took home.
In the garden of the residence, Master Craftsman and world renowned Glass Blower Master Robert of Studio Royal International Glass blowing Academy (http://studioroyal.com ) demonstrated this dyeing art.
On stage celebrities and entertainers kept the visitors entertained with non stop performances concluding with the presentation to the esteem Doctor of a proclamation from the Governor of Nevada Brian Sandoval. Others honored on the day were the History Channel's "Pawn Stars", The "Tanked" cast and crew and "The American Restoration Show".
