Hampton Inn Raleigh North: A Review

Debbie
I recently had the opportunity to stay that the Hampton Inn Raleigh North and am pleased to say that my stay was consistent with what I expect from Hampton Inns: a clean room, good service and an affordable price.

The hotel is located just south of the 440 beltline on Wake Forest Road. It is located approximately 13 miles/20 minutes from Raleigh/Durham International Airport in Morrisville. It is difficult to see the airport from Wake Forest road, as it is set at the top of the hill and hidden by trees. When heading South on Wake Forest Road, take a right on to Wake Towne Drive and follow the road up the hill to the second hotel on the right.

The Hampton Inn Raleigh North has a AAA diamond rating of three and participates in the Hilton Honors program.

Arrival and check in:

I arrived at the hotel on Friday at about 7pm. The check in was smooth and uneventful. The front desk clerk was friendly and accommodating and the check in was went quickly enough. The staff was also very helpful in assisting me with finding a locksmith after I locked my keys in my car. There was plenty of parking in the parking lot, and I was able to park my car close to the front and side entrances.

The Room:

I was impressed with the room I stayed in. The king sized bed had an extremely comfortable looking, fluffy down comforter which was just as comfortable to sleep with as it looked. The room was clean and bright and had a tray on the bed with snacks, which was a nice treat.

The amenities in the room, ones that are typically expected in a hotel, were all present except wireless internet access. I have, in past experience, been accustomed to being able to have wireless access, and this particular Hampton Inn did not have it, which was a bit of a disappointment. The cord to get on to the internet was long enough to reach over to the bed, which made it still easy enough to get online, but the connection started out very slow and stayed that way all evening. The connection I had in the morning was much better. There was no cost for getting online which was helpful.

I did appreciate free local calling in the room. My cell phone battery was low, so it helped that I was able to make local phone calls at no charge.

The room was exceptionally clean, which is also something I expect from Hampton Inns, and I was not let down. The bathroom was in good order, except there were not enough towels, and I did not see any washcloths at all.

Hotel Amenities:

I was not able to partake in the breakfast, but the hotel does offer on the run breakfast bags Monday through Friday as well as hot breakfast every day. There is coffee and tea available 24 hours for guests as well.

The hotel offers meeting rooms, wireless internet access in the lobby, and complimentary newspapers Monday through Friday. Everything the guest could want or need for a comfortable stay can be found at this hotel.

Price:

I paid $69.00 before tax for my room and prices reasonably range from $59-$149 depending on day of week and hotel occupancy. I was extremely impressed with the rate and felt I more than got my money's worth.

One of Hampton Inn's best selling points is its 100% satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason a guest is not happy with her/her stay, they do not pay. This is an excellent way to gain a loyal following of customers, and it has helped Hampton Inn over the years to remain successful and profitable. My stay was good, and I saw no reason to exercise this option, but it is a comfort to know it's there if I was really unhappy and dissatisfied.

I would definitely recommend the Hampton Inn Raleigh North to anyone staying in this area. The hotel is close to city center and has numerous stores and restaurants in every direction. The few disappointments during my stay were more than made up for by the great service and clean room.

The Hampton Inn Raleigh North is located at 1001 Wake Towne Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, 27609. The telephone number is 1-919-828-1813.
