Hand Reflexology for Minor, Cluster & Migraine Headache Relief

Hand reflexology is just as good as foot reflexology. The greatest part about hand reflexology is it is convenient to start healing yourself with hand reflexology. Foot reflexology is extremely beneficial but you are not always in a position or place to start kicking off your shoes and massaging or kneading into your feet in front of others in public. You could be at work, a place of worship, the supermarket, in a restaurant with an excruciating migraine or cluster headache (very painful one-sided headache), and no pain reliever in sight. Simply start on one hand using a pressure technique similar to massaging. Use the thumb and on opposite hand begin working the tips of your thumb and fingers (where the head, brain and sinus reflexes are located) and wait for some relief. Get a hold of a hand reflexology chart either on line, just save a copy to your desk top (www.dorlingkindersley-uk.co.uk) or print a copy from on line, or a library book about hand reflexology, or even buy a book about it from your favorite book store such as Borders or Barnes & Nobles.

Once hand reflexology becomes a part of your routine it will be easy to remember what part of the hand is related to what organ. Let's say you want to start curing yourself with reflexology, but you do not want to get a book or look at a chart to do so. Okay, simply clean your hands or even put a massage oil or good naturally nourishing lotion like (Burt's Bee's brand) on hands and begin massaging the hands with pressure, pushing down deeply into your flesh with your thumb. Wherever you feel the slightest pain, pinch, or even severe pain, this means you have blockage of energy somewhere in your body. Circulation is not working properly in an area and there are lingering toxins in certain organs, or just loosely in the body. You can start the process of releasing them, and make sure to drink plenty of water to flush them out. If you do not the toxins stay inside and can cause you to feel sick. Continue to massage the area, you may even feel a lump, which are calcium and mineral deposits, or something called "crunchies." Keep massaging until the deposits disperse and keep working the sore area of your hand, do it for the time period you can tolerate, and stop. You can work it again later and or every day until symptoms subside.

Don't always be so quick to pop an aspirin or ibuprofen for a headache. The damaging side effects in the long run are not worth it. Try something natural to stop pain. Along with reflexology treatments keep these natural remedies for headaches and migraines with you to quickly alleviate the symptoms you may suffer from.

Natural Remedies for Headache Relief

Try nutritional supplements, herbs, and foods for headaches-

Vitamin B-2(riboflavin) in combination with magnesium (reduces frequency of headaches), feverfew (reduce severity, duration, and frequency), and noni juice, Tahitian or Hawaiian (known as the painkiller& headache reducer).

Tip#- Hawaiian noni that is not diluted with juice, like various kinds of noni out there. Hawaiian noni is also cheaper, and not marked up in excessive value like the original Tahitian Noni brand. For a small bottle of noni juice ranging from ($14-$17) dollars versus ($40-$50) dollars visit www.nonialoha.com ) Puna Noni Juice brand). I drink about ΒΌ cup of this juice daily and mix my own juice with it.

Headaches can come from too many hours in front of the computer, a stuffy room, or even from food you just ate that is not agreeing with you. Other causes of headaches are dehydration, anxiety and worrying. Anxiety and worrying can also cause stiff tension in the neck. A migraine is often related to overwork and extreme stress, even food allergies.

Reflexology Treatment for Headaches & Migraines

For headaches with a known physical cause, treat spine by concentrating on the neck area at the top of the spine, to release tension. For stress related headaches (including cricks, stiffness, and whiplash injury). Treat the brain as well as the cervical spine. Administer the treatment on yourself (1-2) treatments daily. The 3 main areas on the hand that should be worked in order to bring relief are the brain, liver & cervical spine.

Working the Brain

Use your left thumb to work the top of the right thumb. Apply pressure; hold it for 5 seconds, and then release. Repeat on the left hands.

Working the Cervical Spine

Use the left thumb to work along the outer edge of the right hand from the thumb's side all the way down, and to the bottom of the hand.

Working the Liver

The reflexes for the liver are on the right hand only. Use your left thumb to work from the bottom base of the thumb and all the way across the middle section of hand.

These methods when practiced regularly should alleviate chronic to minor migraines, and minor headache pain.
