McCloud Ringworks, brings customers ideas to life, in the form of gold and silver. Many of the customers, who come to McCloud, leave with a unique piece of wearable art; Only to return again and again, as a special member of the McCloud family. Goldsmith and Owner, Gary Owen, has been perfecting his craft for over 40 years, down at Ports O' Call Village in San Pedro, CA.
McCloud Ringworks uses this "lost wax" method for creating all of the handmade jewelry in their store, as well as, custom jewelry designed by our customers. The first process is the creation itself. This is where you, the customer, comes in, or sometimes the brilliant minds of the goldsmith. Next, they start carving the wax . The rings will start out as wax tubes, and the pendants, as wax sheets or bricks of wax.
Measurements are then taken, to determine how much material (gold, silver) will be needed.and the design is first scratched in the surface of the wax, it is ready for casting. This process takes skill and creativity, both of which the jewelers at McCloud Ringworks have. They have been using this method for years and years, making it second nature to them, it shows in all of the designs in the store, on customers hands, or in their extensive portfolios.
Seeing is believing, and McCloud Ringworks, invites you to see what they are made of. The store hours vary, much like the creativity of each artisan, but well worth the trip down to the waterfront. Don't live local? No problem! McCloud Ringworks has also perfected the craft of shipping valuable items, and maintaining excellent customer relationships, local and long distance.
McCloud Ringworks can also keep the sentimental value of your cherished jewelry, that is no longer worn, or outdated. We can melt your gold, to incorporate it it into a new design, especially for you or your loved one. This is a perfect way to pass down an important piece, to more than one family member. Melt the gold or silver, to make two or more beautiful keepsakes, that will be cherished forever.
