Handmade Christmas ornaments can be a fun project for your kids and for yourself. You can hang them on your own tree or you can give them as gifts to friends and family who would appreciate the craftiness involved in them. There are many different Christmas ornament you can create yourselves. Below you will find a few ideas and instructions to get your own creative Christmas juice flowing.

Snowman Christmas Ornament

You will need clear glass or plastic ornaments, tiny Styrofoam balls like the ones you find in bean bags, Sharpie markers, felt, and a glue that dries clear. Fill the clear ornaments with the Styrofoam balls. They can be as full as you would like. Using the Sharpie markers draw the eyes, nose, and mouth of your snowman Christmas ornament. Sharpie markers work nicely because they are permanent but also somewhat translucent when used on glass. Use the felt to make a hat to cover the ornament hook and also for a scarf around the bottom of the snowman Christmas ornament.

Bell Christmas Ornament

You will need small terra cotta pots, jingle bells, ribbon, thin wire, craft paints, a glue gun or other glue, and decorations such as sequins, glitter, etc. Begin by painting the terra cotta pot the color you want it to be for your Christmas ornament. After the bell Christmas ornament is completely dry run a piece of wire through one of the jingle bells and up into the whole of the pot. Secure by gluing the wire to the top of the pot. Use a piece of ribbon to make the loop to have on the Christmas tree and secure with glue. Let dry completely. Take the glitter or other decorations and decorate the Christmas bell ornament to your liking. There is no right or wrong way as long as it looks good to you.

Beaded Christmas Ornament

You will need old glass or plastic Christmas ornaments they can be any shape or size, some Elmers glue, a paint brush, low profile containers, and small beads teeny tiny ones. Pour the beads into the containers. Mix and match colors to make the colors that will look fantastic on your Christmas tree or leave them separate. Squirt glue onto the ornament and smooth with a paint brush. Leave a thin coat of glue on the entire Christmas ornament or just went you want the beads to go. Dip into the beads and cover the glued area. Let dry.
