Clipboards are cool because Dad can put all of his important papers like the kid's game schedules, directions, phone numbers, invitations and to do list on the clipboard and hang it up at home or the office and grab it and go on the run.
Materials:
Clipboard
Stickers
Letter stickers
A variety of paper media to cut and paste
Glue
Optional:
Modge Podge
Photos
Duct tape
If you want to add a background collage you can use scrap paper, magazine cut outs, cut outs from game day programs, old maps and other scrapbook memorabilia type paper items.
Of course you can find the perfect background paper in the scrap booking section with themes for the race fan, football fan, gardener, handy man, chef, artist, camper, golfer and more.
Tips & Creative Solutions for Adding Photos:
If you plan to decoupage the collage for a shiny, durable finish, DO NOT add photos or stickers until the decoupage step is complete and dry.
You can find sticker photo frames in the scrap booking sections of craft retailers. Our creative solution for adding photos was to cut thin strips of dad's favorite multi-tool, Duct tape, and create our own Duct tape frames for the photos on the clipboard.
Add a Cute Accessory to Personalize the DIY Clipboard for Dad:
Clipboards come with a hole in the clip that make for easy hanging but this hole also makes it possible to add a cute accessory to your handmade Father's Day gift that makes the clipboard for Dad even more personalized.
My kids chose a coach's whistle for their dad, the coach and sports fan but there are a variety of cute ideas for adding accessories to go with the theme of your personalized clipboard for Dad. Tie the accessories on with twine, raffia or kite string.
Other ideas:
-Fishing tackle for the fishing dad
-Golf tees for the golfing dad
-Recipe cards for the grill master dad
-Pen light for the camping dad
-Bookmark for the reading dad
More Clipboard Craft Ideas for Dad:
In addition to creating a useful clipboard, you can also use a clipboard and these techniques to create other fanciful Father's Day gifts. Use can recycle a clipboard to make photo collage frame, a keepsake card for Dad complete with a drawings and poems or even a cool personalized sign for Dad's office, garage or workshop.
Armed with a clipboard, some basic craft supplies and a little imagination, families can create a DIY clipboard craft that's perfect for the DIY Dad for Father's Day.
