When making homemade father's day gifts the age of the child will have to be taken into consideration. So will the skills that the child has, some children will be better in certain areas than others.
Drawings- Children can draw dad a picture for father's day. They can draw themselves with dad or draw the whole family with a simple crayon written "happy father's day" across the page. Or they can draw a picture of something that dad enjoys doing. It's all up to your child and the amount of imagination they posses.
Hand prints- Kids can put their hand prints in the little clay kits or on a small poster board for dad to show him how much they love him. Dad can look back on this in the years to come to remember how little and innocent they once were.
Cards
You can make a homemade card for dad. You can use a sheet of card stock or two and fold them. (With a little help your child can use a computer program to design the card and put a photograph onto it as well.) If they are doing them by hand they can glue figures they cut out them selves onto the pages.
Signs -Dad needs his own space too. Homemade father's day gifts can include signs that define dad's space. It just takes a poster and some markers to make dad his own sign.
Coupon books -You can make dad a coupon book for father's day. It can be filled with coupons for you doing dad's chores or whatever else you want to put in. Hugs, kisses and car washes can all go into the coupon book.
It's father's day and you want your dad to have the best. Can you cook? You can cook for dad if you are good in the kitchen. You can make dad a batch of cookies for father's day or even a cake if he likes them.
Dishes -Dad needs something to eat that cake on, well not to eat off of but to decorate his place setting. Take a plain white plate and paint it for dad or make one out of clay for him. It can be personalized for dad on his special day.
Coasters and Place mats -Dad could use a coaster for his favorite drink glasses. Place mats can be made out of old cards and laminated to make coasters and place mats for dad's spot at the table.
There are a million things that can be made for father's day to give dad. It's all up to your child's imagination what can be done to give dad a homemade gift on his day.
