Handmade Holiday Gift for the Sister with a Sweet Tooth

If you're tired of giving store bought gifts or you looking to give your sister a unique homemade gift you will find the information following to be beneficial. In my family we all love to bake and we are always looking for new interesting ways to make different types of cookies. This unique gift is the exact gift my sister will be receiving for the holidays. It's handmade, specifically to match her tastes and she will know that thought and care went into her holiday gift.

Items needed:
• Recipe card for favorite cookies, brownies, or other dry ingredient dessert
• Medium sized crock
• Cookie sheet or baking sheet
• Hot chocolate mix
• 2 Mugs
• Pretty stationary
• Plastic sandwich bags
• Holiday twist ties
• Decorative basket or container

1. Use a recipe or create a recipe based on the likes and desires of your sister. For me this year I will be making almond biscotti cookies, dipped in chocolate white chocolate drizzled over the top. Gather all your dry ingredients and non perishable ingredients and measure them. Place each ingredient into a plastic sandwich bag and use the holiday twist ties to close. Place these items into the medium sized crock. It's works better if you use a crock that has a lid.

2. Add items to the basket that correspond with the ingredients. For example since we are doing biscotti I have included a cookie sheet. Once I have the main items in, if there is any room I may include spatulas and mixing spoons. You will also add in any non perishable items to the basket, I will add dark and white melting chocolate in a plastic sandwich bag. The object is to ensure that your basket carries everything it will need to follow the recipe minus the perishable items most people have on hand.

3. Make sure to include the recipe on a cute recipe card.

4. Using the stationary I have written my sister a lovely little note to tie in the hot chocolate and the mugs. It's a sisterly time for us to get together enjoy a cup of hot chocolate in her new mugs on a cold evening. Your note can be about anything and you can choose to omit the hot chocolate include coffee or tea; you can even do hot toddies or hot cider. The possibilities are limitless as long as you keep your sisters tastes in mind.
