Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds Concert Movie Review

WD
Hannah Montana has become a household name and she is popular among toddlers, adolescents, teens and parents alike. Today I took my son to the local movie theater to see Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds concert 3-D movie. When the Hannah Montana live tours were first announced I tried to get tickets, but they sold out almost immediately. When I saw the other week that her concert was made into a 3-D movie and that it was going to be available in theaters for one week, I was online immediately purchasing tickets from Fandango.com.

The cost of the tickets I felt were a little high, but knowing how much my child loves Hannah Montana, I ordered them anyway. It was $15 a ticket regardless of age or regardless of what time you booked to see the show. Then on top of the $15, there was a $2 service charge per ticket that was called a "convenience fee". My husband was planning to attend with us but when he found out how much the tickets were he decided he didn't really need to see the movie!

There are six showings a day at our local Carmike Cinema starting at 1:00 p.m. We went to see the 3:00 p.m. show today and when we arrived at 2:30 to the theater, the line of fans waiting to get into the theater was very long. Before us stood little girls in Hannah Montana shirts as young as 3 years old, with their older sisters carrying Hannah Montana purses and jackets. My son was afraid that he would be the only boy there, but I reassured him that there are a lot of little boys who like Hannah Montana - and I was right.

We waited outside the theater in line for almost 25 minutes before we were allowed to go in and find our seats. We were hoping to get seats in the back because my son likes to dance! I knew we needed to sit somewhere in the theater where he wouldn't distract others with his non-stop dancing to Hannah Montana songs. The Jonas Brothers were also part of the Hannah Montana tour and my son loves to watch them as much as he does Hannah Montana.

I thought the movie was put together very well by Disney. The movie showed what all is involved with preparing for a concert tour, what Miley's responsibilities are, and how much behind the scenes work is involved. It made me realize how the star of these concerts only has a very small part to do with the show being a success. The dancers, choreographers, musicians, production people, etc. have huge amounts of responsibility on them and they really make the star look good. Miley Cyrus has a lot of work to do, too. For as young as she is, it amazes me how mature, focused and motivated she is and how well she has stayed grounded in all of her success. During all of these rehearsals, meetings, concert tours, and taping of the Hannah Montana show, she has to go to school as well.

The songs she sang on the concert were great, as all of the Hannah Montana songs are! Yes, I am a big fan too. It's not just my son who was excited to go to the movie today! The 3-D effects really made us feel like we were actually at the concert. The costume changes were neat to watch also. During the concert, Miley Cyrus only has seconds to change into new outfits, which her mother is responsible for. The one costume change they showed they had to have her clothes changed, Hannah wig removed, Miley's hair and makeup done in less then 45 seconds. It was amazing to see all of that put together so quickly.

Miley Cyrus also writes some of her own songs, which I never realized before seeing the movie today. Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, has been a big influence in her life and it's neat to see someone like Billy Ray from my generation, have a famous daughter now in my son's generation.

I recommend this movie to men, women and children of all ages. If you like upbeat music that is clean, decent and fun to listen to and watch a Hannah Montana concert movie is the way to go. After the movie I spoke to the clerks at the Carmike Cinema. They said that they had prepared themselves for the popularity and crowds this movie would bring. They also said that almost all of the showings for the week have sold out, with the exception of a couple of showings on the last day. If you are planning to take your child or children to see Hannah Montana for this movie, don't wait! You will regret it if you miss it!
