Hannah Montana - the New Craze

Chloe Thorn
After Billie Ray Cyrus' moment of fame who would think that his daughter would become so much more of a household name. Mylie Cyrus or Hannah Montana has become the new craze for age 5 up to 16. If the show does quite hit right with the older crowd her music does and concerts are selling like wildfire. Now they have started to come out with DVD - Movies that people are anticipating like movies in the theater.

The show is based on a young girl Mylie that is actually a pop star with a stage name of Hannah Montana, however she wants to live a normal life and go to school without all the fuss so she stays Mylie in school and home and brings out the Hannah disguise for her music and shows. The stories usually surround how she deals with telling her friends who she is and how she fits everything into her normal schedule and manages or tries to manage a normal life. With characters like Lily her really perky best friend, and Jackson her class clown of a brother there is never a dull moment. However they pack in good music and manage to cover many adolescent issues of today.

In most recent episodes such as "Everybody was Best Friend Fighting" it addresses the issue of having time for all of your friends and making sure they are all aware of how important they are. One of the best episode is the "Get Down and Study-udy-udy". This episode hits the hot topic of different ways to study or memorize subjects that seem impossible at first. Mylie specifically has to learn and the bones in her body and cannot remember one nevertheless all of them. Until it hits her that she can make it into a song and dance which is what she does best, and she aces her science exam.

The shows however are only the beginning, now the concerts have become almost impossible to get tickets for. Recently Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX started selling tickets for Hannah's new concert and they were sold out in 15 minutes. They are expecting this to happen throughout the whole concert tour. The fact that the music contains no curse words and is always upbeat or something about a lesson learned also pushes parents to get the concert tickets because they are willing to let their kids listen to this over all the other options out there right now.

The CD's and DVD's are also a new craze and have become very popular. The videos that they show all over the Disney Channel promotes the music on top of the show. There is not a lot of talk about Season 3 as of yet, however with all of the hype around the music I don't see how they wont renew the series for at least another season if not more.

Cute show. Who would believe that tickets for her concert would be going for big bucks. :)
