Hannah Montana Halloween Costume: How to Make Your Own

Make Your Hannah Montana Costume Yourself Much Cheaper, and Will Be More Creative

OK, so you want to be Hannah Montana for Halloween, but wondering how you can pull this costume off without spending a fortune right? Halloween costumes now a days can be really expensive, especially if it's someone popular like Hannah Montana, Joker, Batman, or even Spider-man. Think about it by the time you get the costume, the accessories, make-up, and whatever else the costume calls for you now went from around $45 to around $75 just to wear for one day. That's just an estimate price could be more depending on the store you go to. How crazy is that? You are better off making your own Hannah costume, which will not only cut the price in half, but also you won't look like every other girl who is dressing up like her. My opinion it's always better to have some creativity or originality to your costume or really anything for that matter.

So now you're thinking what items will I need to complete this costume? Simple first discuss with your parents what items would be allowed to be worn. What do I mean by this? Well, even though it's for Halloween parents still have to be very safe what their child is wearing too many perverts out there if you know what I mean. Some of the clothing that Hannah wears can be very provoking to many. To be on the safe side I would go with the simpler outfits she wears.

The biggest part of the costume would be the Blonde wig. What kind of wig should you buy? Well, many stores sell synthetic wigs that come in almost every color possible. What's great about the synthetic wig is you may wash them, condition, and even spray them. You would be surprised at how many of these wigs look really real. You may find a similar wig to Hannah Montana at cheap retail stores like Target, Wal-Mart, Ebay, and the best place believe it or not is Walgreen's for under $10. Target and them you may pay anywhere from ten to twenty dollars, they are a higher store than Walgreen's.

What would you wear for the clothing? Buy yourself a pair of Black cowboy boots, Black legging jeans/pants, or even some metallic color pants would work, especially if they are glittery/shiny. Some stores that would carry these would be Wal-Mart or Target. The boots at Wal-Mart should run you no more than twenty dollars. Now we all know Hannah loves lots of glitter and shine so for the shirt either buy a cheap plain tee that already has glitter on it, or take an old plain shirt from your closet buy a tube of glitter for about $1 at the dollar store glitter it up.

For the accessories I would go to the dollar store and buy a necklace (choker), bracelet, ring, and maybe earrings all for $4. If you have a studded belt or rhinestone scarf at home you can add this to your costume. Look around your home you would be surprised how much of this Hannah costume you already have besides the wig of course. The last final touch would be the make-up. Don't go overboard though. You don't want to look like a prostitute hanging on the corner. You will need nail polish with sparkles would be nice, Purple eye shadow, Pink eye shadow, blush, white /Vanilla bean shadow, black eyeliner, lip gloss.

I would do the eye shadow with the Vanilla bean as a base and the Pink blended in on the lids. Then once you apply your fine line of Black liner on top to the lids then apply some Purple underneath each eye to give it more of a drastic look. I'm sure most girls dressing up as Hannah will probably go with the Smokey eyes be different. As far as the lip glosses you can use a light pink apply shimmer on top. Then for the blush a nice rosy color to each cheekbone.

So let's break this down:

Wig $10 if purchased at Walgreen. Higher price anywhere else, but no more than $20

Pants $10-14 or possibly free if you have pants at home, which you can design on.

Boots $16 at Wal-Mart

Shirt $1 at dollar store or free is you have one at home to design on

Tube of glitter $1 at the dollar store

Accessories $9 at the dollar store (necklace, bracelet, ring, earrings, nail polish, eye shadow, lip gloss and blush. This adds up to $51, but may cost you a lot cheaper if you have most of this stuff at home already. This costume may only cost you the price of the wig it really depends, but a lot cheaper than the stores. Don't let the stores fool you. Half the costumes always need more added to them.

My daughter loves Hannah Montana. We already have the wig, I guess it wouldn't be such a stretch to add a bit and voila', a cheap costume she'll love. Thanks for the idea. :)
