Hannah Montana is the double life of Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus) and it has totally gotten out of hand. So Robby Ray (Billy Ray Cyrus), her father, decides it's time to go back to her roots. Hannah Montana The Movie.
This whole Hannah Montana thing reminds me of "Jem" that 80's cartoon. I placed a photo to jumpstart some memories on that. She didn't have a bossy dad, just a, if remember correctly, bossy computer. It has a similar concept via the dueling identity thing.
I was dragged to see this movie. It was alright. I was neither annoyed nor bored by the story. It was campy and it was Disney-ish. There was a lot of Hannah Montana singing as well as Miley Cyrus singing. Some of the songs were actually catchy. Some of the songs were actually not.
The story is really simple with Miley not wanting to go to this country bumpkin home and then days later liking it enough to stay because of a what? That's right a love interest. Of course for you veteran moviegoers out there you know exactly what happens next. It is an old tale to tell. It's been told over and over again but the difference is that they tell it in a Hannah Montana way and for those that love her they do it a pretty good job. For those that do not, but can stand her because they have kids they will not be aggregated.
There is a scene where Miley sings a song and it turns into a line dance that's pretty creative. It actually, cause I like line dancin', looked fun. There is a nice moment between her and her father where she sings him her new song and he joins in. One of my favorite parts of the entire movie is the reveal. The time when everything comes to a head and she has to, in effect, face the music. The location of this reveal is so creative. I love the camera angle and the entire emotional aspect of it. There were no words but only facial expressions. It's one of the better reveals I've ever seen in a movie.
Hannah Montana The Movie is longer than Observer and Report but it's more bearable. The time passed at a reasonable pace as I watched this film. I didn't grow bored. I knew what was going to happen because the template is noticeable, but it was the characters that kept it interesting and entertaining; something Observe and Report could have done a better job at. I believe it will not disappoint the Montana lovers or those that are parents of said lovers. It's worth the money.
