Miley Cyrus brings Hannah Montana to the big screen, with all the characters from her show, as well as her dad, coming along with her. For Hannah Montana the Movie, Miley is going on the road to the country, after it becomes clear that her alter ego is starting to go on an ego trip.
This tactic of "Hannah detox" works only too well as Miley starts to question what kind of lifestyle she really wants - and whether keeping her famed secret is worth it. Yes, the trailers for Hannah Montana the Movie seem to hint that the easiest secret identity to figure out, next to Clark Kent being Superman, may actually be revealed to the world.
Bringing Hannah Montana to the movies comes at the right time for Miley Cyrus, after the Jonas Brothers started to overtake her on the Disney food chain, and after various mini-controversies about various photos.
Cyrus is now on the verge of growing out of pop teen idol stage, and having to craft the next phase of her career. Such a transition has not worked out well for the likes of Brittany Spears and Lindsey Lohan, and many other teen idols before Cyrus. Fellow Disney icon Zac Efron is also in the midst of this transition, as he headlines the new movie 17 Again next week.
Therefore, Hannah Montana the Movie may be the right kickoff to Cyrus making the jump to films, and a final farewell to her famous creation.
Of course, if the movie has the same kind of success her concert film did last year, Disney may not be ready to party with Hannah or Miley just yet.
Naturally, reviews by grownups mean nothing for Hannah Montana the Movie, as the young fans are already lining up in droves to see Hannah and Miley again. For the record, Rotten Tomatoes has the film at a 43% rating, ruling that "While youthful Miley fans won't complain, Hannah Montana the Movie is little more than a formulaic Disney Channel episode stretched thin."
Only Fast and Furious should stand between Cyrus, Disney and their latest financial windfall from the Hannah Montana empire.

For her fans, I doubt the quality of the film will matter. I can still remember some movies starring pop stars that had girls in the 60s and 70s lining up to see them -and the movies were...well, fluff and not much else :) But did that stop me from seeing some of them? Nope :) Nice piece!
Informative article, I have seen Fast and Furious, it may not be much of a challenge after all. Hannah Montah will do well.
nice :)!
