Hannah Montana Star, Miley Cyrus, Racy Photos Leaked Online = Poor Taste and Bad Judgment

Attention all Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus fans: The search is on! Did little Hannah allow photos to be taken of her in her underwear? Is this true? Could one of America's top role models for pre-teen girls have succumbed to this?

Several of the poses, if her, look suspiciously like Cyrus may have even been holding the camera herself. If wholesome Hannah Montana is taking racy photos, could other young girls be doing this, too?

The rumor mill has it that Miley's photos were stolen from her My Space account and leaked online. Stolen from her My Space account? Doesn't she know better than to put any type of racy photo on My Space - or anywhere else for that matter?

While the photos of the Hannah Montana star are making headlines, they can only considered "racy" because of her age. She's just 15 years old.

In one pose, Miley Cyrus is shown lifting her shirt with one hand, while her other hand appears to be holding her camera (or more likely, cell phone camera). Cyrus is wearing more clothes than many pictures of Britney Spears.

In another, she's lying down, wearing some type of tank-top pajamas and underwear. Inappropriate, yes. Indecent? Hardly. Other photos of the Hannah Montana star show her in a bikini bathing suit that actually provides far more coverage than many bikinis that are worn to the beach every day.

Of more concern is the question "who took these photos?" The Hannah Montana star is shown with her arm hand held in an outstretched and upward position. A position that is common when young girls take pictures of themselves with their cell phones cameras.

Could Miley herself have taken these shots? Judging by the camera angle and her outstretched arm, it sure looks like it.

The most distressing part of all is the fact that nearly everyday we hear of more and more cases of young girls who have succumbed to the pressure of seeing themselves as sex objects.

Why else would girls of 15, 14, and even as young as 13 years old take sexualized pictures of themselves for others to see?

Photos of partially clad women are not new. The number of teens and pre-teens who take their own photo has exploded. Nearly every week there's another account in the news of a teen or pre-teen girl who sent a racy picture to her boyfriend or someone else.

These photos get passed from person to person, as the number of viewers grows exponentially during the process. Parents caution their kids about the problems that racy photos can cause.

Kids are kids. Too many are going to ignore their parents. They don't realize the consequences of their actions. They're just following what society is saying is 'ok' behavior, snap that racy photo and post it on MySpace, just like Miley Cyrus did.

Maybe it's time to take the cameras out of cell phones.
