Hanukkah Festivals and Events in Los Angeles Suburbs

As the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah nears, there are several local festivals where you can be a part of this celebration of the Festival of Lights. As the economy tightens, these celebrations are either free or relatively cheap. Go and enjoy this special celebration to remember the significance of religious liberty.

The Skirball Cultural Center will be having its day long celebration on Sunday, December 14, beginning at 11:00AM. The admission to this fun-packed event is $10 for the general public, $7 for seniors and full time students, and free of charge to Skirball members and children less than 12 years of age. With the admission fee, you gain entrance to the festival as well as art exhibitions with exception of the Noah's Ark.

In addition, you get to enjoy creative arts such as balloon art, storytelling with book pals, Hanukkah Puppet Show, and so much more. The Stein Brothers will be there as well to perform Hanukkah favorite songs infused with hip-hop, jazz, and even Eastern European sounds. Silver Lake Independent Jewish Community Center Hanukkah

The Silver Lake Independent Jewish Community Center is hosting its annual Hanukkah fair this December. Families are invited to a Hanukkah fair where food, games, and entertainment will fill you with fun. Bounce house, a toddler zone, tattoo and face painting, crown and wand decorating and musical guests will all help make this celebration of lights a memorable one for you and your family. A gift bazaar is also part of the festivities, with all monetary benefits going to the Center.

The Festival will take place on December 6, 2008 from 10:00AM onward. A general admission fee of $5.00 is payable to the center, and children under five years old get in for free. California Lutheran University Hanukkah Celebration

The CLU Multicultural Programs and the Hillel Student Organization will be hosting its annual Hanukkah Celebration on Tuesday, December 9th at 4:30PM. Come and enjoy music, food, games, and rituals of this important celebration. The admission is free as are the food and games. For more information, call 805-493-3323. This event is idea for college students and older.

Chanukah Boutique

The Sisterhood of Temple Beth Ami will be jump-starting the Hanukah season with a Boutique day sale on November 23, 2008. It will start at 10:30AM and ends at 12:30PM. You will have opportunity to shop for religious gifts from dozens of vendors.
