Happy Administrative Professionals Day 2010

Charles B Reynolds
I know it isn't PC (that's "politically correct" in case you've been hiding behind the filing cabinet these past few decades) to call Professional Executive Administrators 'secretaries,' but that title is just too long, lends itself to frivolous repetition and, lets face it, just too long. The cards are full just by saying "HAPPY EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATOR'S DAY!" So here is my 2010 tribute to these wonderful people who make everything run smoothly. (Or at least appear to all concerned to run smoothly. They are that good.)

"S" is for the smarts we see in you

"E" is for the everything you do

"C" is for the confidence you air

"R" is for the way you're really rare

"E" is for the extra effort no one sees

"T" is for the terrific image for our companies

"A" is for the way you, always, always deliver

"R" is for the flow of work that sails like a river

and

"Y" is for the thing we love about you -- YOU!

This is offerede with sincerity and thanks for everyone out there that files a report from someone else, does magic things with a spreadsheet and PowerPoint, makes sure we all keep our appointments and makes each customer feel that they are our number one priority. You are the public face of the work and the secret force behind the success.

Happy Secretary's Day -- Executive Administrator's Day -- Professional Executive Assistant's Day -- and every other thing that the bosses can never remember to call it!

Take a moment, lift the fingers from the keyboard, bask in the warmth of appreciation -- and then BACK TO WORK!

But seriously . . . thanks.
