It has been 10 years since Google opened its doors, but within the last 10 years Google has come up with many ways to make our internet searching and work a lot easier. Take for instance the need to do your homework, but you don't see a dictionary around; you can look up anything on the internet on Google and 99 times out of 100 you are going to find what you need. I am a huge fan of Google and am impressed that they are celebrating their 10th birthday. I have often said that you shouldn't buy reading material since you can find everything on the internet with a few clicks of a button.
Since this is Google's ten year birthday celebration I want to talk about some of the things that Google has done that really impresses me.
Gmail is free to use and comes in handy for those who need a lot of email space but don't want to pay for it. I have five email accounts at Gmail that I use for different things on the internet. I became a member of gmail around two years ago and haven't had any trouble with it. I love being able to archive my messages without them being deleted but still moved out of my inbox.
Google Trends
For those who do business by blogs or websites probably know by now that Google Trends can be a lifesaver when it comes to drawing traffic to your blog. I also use Google Trends when I am reporting news on my blogs and to help me find evergreen or hot topic items for articles in my freelancing career.
Google Blogger
Blogger is a place where you can obtain a free blog by using their blogging platform known as blogger or blogspot. I have used blogger and love it although they are in high competition with Wordpress.
Google search engine
Google's search engine is also something worth talking about. The search engine that Google has made has been put through a lot of updates and I am proud of them. With the ten year birthday celebration you should also expect more great things to come from Google. The search engine that many people around the world use is great since you are able to do an advance search and they have other things in place so that you can get the exact match for your search.
Google Reader
I absolutely do not know what I would do without my Google reader. Google reader is a place that will allow you to place rss feeds from blogs and websites in it so that you can view them all in one place. Google reader also allows you to share items of interest with friends and to put each one into different folders for easier managing.
Google Notebook
Google notebook has been a life saver when I am trying to work on the internet with my freelance writing career. I use Google's Notebook to take snippets from other websites or blogs to use as a reference in my articles.
There are many things that Google has done and this is only a short list of those items. Google's birthday celebration has started and if you haven't checked out some of the Google features such as the Google reader or Google notebook then you should to give yourself a lot more leverage while on the internet. The most important thing that I like about Google is that most of their items that they offer is all featured within one website for easy navigation.
