Make the drums bang (there were no drums, but there was the thud of marching feet.)
Applause! Applause! (there was no applause - but there were songs.)
Rattle the cymbals (batons rattled as police attacked the Selma to Montgomery Marchers.)
Trumpets blast (no trumpets, but attacked marchers may have gasped and moaned.)
Instruments sparkle ( no, but some tears may have sparkled on bloody cheeks.)
Now this parade of memories passes, on the birthday of a king!
Let the marchers strut
Uniform steps,
To
Honor
Everlasting
Righteousness!
Kindness for blows,
Income boycotted,
No shots fired,
Greatness, gentleness, goodness practiced instead.

Very impressive! You worked a beautiful tribute off the letters of his name - all with great meaning for the cause for which King and so many others marched. Very well done. rcj
