Happy Days Are Here Again!

Why the Economy Will Finally Improve

Mike Oberg
With a tidal wave of voter dissatisfaction, Republicans are back in power (or soon will be) in many parts of our local, state, and national governments. Finally, the economy will get back on track and jobs will become abundant again! Why am I so sure? Because the majority of people (and company CEOs) will start to believe it is possible.

The economic recovery has been slowed so far by many companies "sitting" on their stimulus monies, refusing to hire more people "until the economy turns around". And if just one CEO decided to invest in the belief that the economy will improve, they would not have much effect on the overall business climate and they might be making a risky investment. But if a large number of CEOs invested in the future, spent their stimulus money, and hired people back to work? Voila! People would start spending their money again, because they would feel more financially secure. We would have a rapid return to prosperity and happy days would be here again.

As a strong believer in the power of our thinking, I know that the economic downturn and its eventual recovery are all dependent on one thing (and it's not which party is in power)! I'm speaking of the attitudes and beliefs of the majority (and especially, the media and other vocal public figures). Nothing else ever really changes, just our thoughts - are we bearish or bullish on our financial future?

Hope springs eternal. Change always has the potential to make things better. If it changes our expectations, it will change our experience! I hope that the new enthusiasm can last long enough for results to be manifested. This will convert more skeptics, causing even more positive expectations, and the new prosperity will be in place. In fact, I predict that the economy will improve even before the newly elected take office!

And so we will be prosperous once again...at least until the next glimmer of doom appears. If we want lasting prosperity, we must realize that it doesn't come from the manifest realm; it comes from the spiritual realm. Once we begin to trust unconditionally in our true Source, we will always be prosperous because we will no longer base our attitudes on those around us. We will always be "bullish" on our future and grateful for the present!

This article reminds me of the quote: "They are able because they think they are able."

Hear. Hear, Mike. The mass are finicky... Hopefully the election will have the effect you describe. It isn't the folks in Washington who can fix the economy. It's the panicky common folks who are refusing to spend money. The consumers make the economy rather than the government. Those who can afford to have got to spend!

I'm not so positive about the past elections are you are. I hope you're right, we need something positive to happen, but, unfortunately, a lot of the same players are in Washington and they just can't work together.

Never underestimate the power of placebo... I think you're right on.

    T. Roosevelt and Wilson were the real starters of big government and social politics. The Reagan era and Ford slowed it down a bit. So be careful of declaring victory just yet because this gang is a different kind of marauder than past "progressives." Having said that, I sure hope you're right.

Wonderful article! People and CEO alike have been jittery for far too long and hurting the economy a lot more than it should be. I'm with you in your hopes for change.
