Happy Graduation . . . No Panic Necessary

Kelly O'Neil
It's graduation morning.
Your parents are so proud.
Despite the celebration
Around you there's a cloud.

You don't want to spoil the fun
But you are sure starting to stress
The plans you have . . well, really, none
Will they leave your life a mess?

Your best friend is off to Yale.
Your honey has an internship.
Some with the Navy will set sail.
The snobs are off to Europe.

You have a part time job, you know
And plans to go to school.
But you can't help thinking you should go
Away to college, or at least something cool.

But do not get down and do not panic.
You are young . . . it's not the end of the line . . .
Stop running around acting frantic!
Stick with your plans . . . life will be so fine!

And for today just get ready for some fun.
Throw on a smile and collect your presents.
Get dressed up, and go get your hair done
It's the only thing that really makes sense.

You've done your time . . and done quite well.
With cap and gown . . . you're on your way!
The success you will be? Only time will tell!
Great Congratulations on this special day!
