My Jesus was a happy man.
He enjoyed life to the nth degree.
He was always reclining at someone's table,
enjoying good food.
He celebrated at weddings
by making new wine.
And he hung out with "publican's and sinners,"
and rejoiced when they got cozy with him
and repented of their real sins.
And at the very end,
he celebrated the passover with his friends,
but he must have had a little sadness in his pure heart then,
for Judas.

And at the very end,
he celebrated the passover with his friends,
but he must have had a little sadness in his pure heart then,
for Judas.
Jesus was a happy man;
he had "gladness above his fellows."

My favorite depiction of Jesus is this one where he is laughing. I have a feeling he had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around, but he also knew when to get serious.
