If I could lay a thousand roses at your feet
And weave a crown of golden stars about your hair.
If I could lay soft sweet kisses against your cheeks
And hold you in a long embrace against my heart,
Then I would never have to cry a million tears
Or recall I was not with you for your last breath.
And you would sing and dance with me, my mother dear,
Instead of with God's angels, in heaven afar.

Oh so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. :)
Very sweet...nice job!
I lost my mother too... This touches my heart!
How beautiful! This expresses my feelings exactly for my late mother. Thank you so much for putting those feelings into words.
I know the feeling. And on down the path, after we too are gone, someone will find our mothers, their photos, and the words we wrote in tribute.
Maybe I'll get done returning comments before we go to Conroe, TX on Thursday (and then I'll probably have tons more after that!)
Aww this was so lovely!
that was beautiful
Thanks, Sandy.
