Harajuku Lovers to Launch Snow Bunnies Fragrance Collection This Fall
Same Great Fragrances, but the Dolls Get a Makeover
Harajuku Lovers Snow Bunnies Collection - What are the changes?
For those of you who are fans of the five original fragrances - Love, Angel, Music, Baby, G - no need to worry. The scents are staying the same. What's changing are the dolls and the outfits they wear. As the name Snow Bunnies would suggest, the Harajuka Lovers dolls will be sporting new winter outfits complete with sweaters, scarves, and boots. The faces on each doll are not changing. And although I have read that the Harajuku Lovers doll's hairstyles are changing too, I checked my bottle of Love and it looks like the same hairdo to me.
Harajuku Lovers Snow Bunnies Collection - How and where will they be sold?
Harajuku Lovers Fragrances come in two sizes: .33 fl oz and 1 fl oz. However, the Snow Bunnies collection will only be made in the .33 fl oz size. Each bottle will sell for around $30, however a gift set with all five Harajuku Lovers Snow Bunnies will be sold in a special personalized container for $100. The Harajuku Lovers Snow Bunnies Collection will be sold at such retailers as Sephora, Macy's, Nordstrom as well as the Harajuku website: www.hlfragrance.com.
Harajuku Lovers Snow Bunnies Collection - Will it replace the original dolls?
The Harajuku Lovers Snow Bunnies Collection is being promoted as a limited edition, suggesting that it will only be sold for certain length of time. But will you be still able to buy the original dolls? Macy's recently ran a buy one get one free promotion with the .33 fl oz Harajuku Lovers Fragrances about 2 weeks ago and the bottles sold out in many locations. A fragrance counter saleswoman at The Willowbrook Mall Macy's in Wayne, New Jersey told me the promotion was designed to make room for the new Snow Bunnies collection. She also told me that the 1 fl oz size bottle is still going to be made with the original dolls, however the original .33 fl oz size bottle is being discontinued. So it looks like time is running out on the smaller fragrance bottle with the original Harajuku Lovers dolls. With this in mind, I would recommend picking up a bottle or two of the originals just in case they become collectibles. And who knows what other limited edition Harajuku Lovers Fragrances will come up in the future!

:) nice write up
Perfume bottles can be a cool collectible. I saw some old bottles on Antiques Roadshow and was astounded at how much those ugly bottles would fetch at auction.
