It isn't easy being the skinny guy. In high school you looked like you belonged in junior high and most of time it was the muscle bound jocks who got all of the attention from the girls. Now you are an adult, but it is still the same story, only you are not in high school anymore. You gaze at the muscle magazine of the men who look so happy, because they have the body you have been aiming for. Its not like you haven't tried. You have been going to the gym faithfully because one of your friends told you that's all you need to do to gain weight. Lift and lift as heavy as you can, but you have been doing this for three months now and still haven't seen any result. I want to shed some light in this article on the reason why you are not gaining weight and how you can start to gain weight.

You are a Hard Gainer

What in the world is a hard gainer you ask? It is someone that can not put on muscle or weight very easily. Here is the thing. Any and everybody in the world can gain muscle or weight if they wanted to. Now true, certain genetics play a factor if some people have more muscle than others, but if you are skinny, you can get more body weight on you. The key is to go from being a hard gainer to a muscle machine. How do you do that you ask. Keep reading.

You must eat and Train

If you want to go from hard gainer to being a muscle machine, you must eat and train. People who are hard gainers need more food than people who can gain wait rather quickly. Some people can just look at food and they will blow up. The two main components you need to concentrate on are protein and carbohydrates. These are the main building blocks that will help you get to the weight that you aspire to be in a short period of time. Here is what you need to do. You need to eat every 2-3 hours. This will help you get hungry more often. You need to eat at least 1 gram of protein per your body weight and 3 grams of carbohydrates per your body weight. You will begin to gain weight like crazy. Now the weight we want you to gain is good weight, not bad weight. Bad weight is when you can't fit your pants from your waist expanding. Good weight is when you gain lean muscle mass, while you put on as little fat as possible. This is where the training comes in. You want to make sure you train with free weights while you are doing all of this eating. If you are eating 2-3 hours a day, but are not lifting weights, you are going to put on a lot of bad weight. When you eat like this while you are training, the food is going to make your muscles grow. Make sure you do separate body parts maybe one or two a day.
