Installation of Harmonics Laminate Flooring
Harmonics Laminate flooring utilizes the tongue-in-groove method for installation, meaning that each piece will simply click into the next piece. Installation of Harmonics Laminate Flooring is especially difficult for the first couple of rows, until you have more resistance to work against. In addition, the thicker width and long length of Harmonics Laminate flooring makes it slightly more difficult to maneuver than thinner, shorter laminate strips. However, once you get the hang of it, clicking the pieces together will be easier. In addition, the use of a tapping block will ensure that the Harmonics Laminate Flooring boards are completely locked into place.
It is important to install your floors in cooler weather and not during the hot summer months as I personally found out. Because boards naturally expand in the heat, it will make snapping them together next to impossible. Also, be sure to carefully follow the directions found inside each container of Harmonics Laminate Flooring. If you find them difficult to read or lose the directions, you can quickly download them from the Harmonics Laminate Flooring website.
To make the installation of your Harmonics Laminate Flooring even more convenient, Harmonics offers an installation kit that includes a plastic moisture barrier, tapping block, spacers, and a tapping bar. The useful and inexpensive installation kit makes installing your Harmonics Laminate Flooring even more simple.
Harmonics Laminate Flooring is Durable
Take it from a mom of two toddlers, Harmonics Laminate Flooring can take anything you throw at it. Our floors have endured chairs, tray tables, and plastic-wheeled tricycles, all without a single scratch. The night our Harmonics Laminate Flooring was installed, I took a kitchen chair to an inconspicuous area and tried my hardest to scratch it by sliding the chair back and forth, sitting in it, standing on it... not a single scratch appeared.
Harmonics Laminate Flooring is Easy to Maintain
Harmonics Laminate Flooring is a must for anyone with children or pets. Spills, accidents, and messes of any kind are no match for the easily maintained Harmonics Laminate Flooring. The only tools you will need to maintain your floors, you likely already have on hand: A broom and dustpan. In addition, you will want to invest in a microfiber dusting mop. Since you cannot wet mop your Harmonics Laminate Flooring, you will find it easiest to spray a microfiber mop with laminate flooring cleaner and clean your floors without dousing it in water. With Harmonics Laminate Flooring, you will not have to worry about stains, so long as you clean up any liquids as soon as possible. For anyone with pets and kids, you'll find that Harmonics Laminate Flooring surely beats easily stained carpets!
Harmonics Laminate Flooring is Attractive
No matter where you decide to install your Harmonics Laminate Flooring, you will be ensured an attractive, polished appearance throughout the room. The addition of Harmonics Laminate Flooring will turn a drab room into a warm and inviting living space. Harmonics Laminate Flooring makes the color of painted walls "pop" and calls attention to your room's accent pieces. No matter which style of Harmonics Laminate Flooring you choose, you will turn any room into a modern work of art.
Overall Impression of Harmonics Laminate Flooring
Despite the fact that we were told installation would take a day and it ended up taking four, we are quite impressed with our Harmonics Laminate Flooring. We compared the cost and features of many other brands of laminate flooring, but none other came close to the value and appearance of Costco's Harmonics Laminate Flooring. The addition of Harmonics Laminate Flooring to our living room and hallway changed our ugly, stained carpeted living room into a cool, modern living space. In short, we love our Harmonics Laminate Flooring and are grateful that we installed it!

Post a CommentPlease excuse the typos in my last post, as I'm typing with my hand I don't usually type with, as I recently had surgery on my other hand. Took me forever to just type this:)
I purchased 34 boxes of Harvet Oak in Sep 2009 and had it installed by a professional several days later. The fllor has looked great until recently. Starting about 2 months ago, 6 different panels have gone bad. About a 4 inch long seam where the panels join together, the surface has bubbles at the seam, looks like large blisters. Really stands out and looks pretty nad. I've got the receipt from the purchase and this weekend, I'll return to Costco to discuss this. The flooring states on the box that it has a 35 year warranty, but with most warranties, there are so many sipulations that it can be difficult for them to honor their warranty. Any one else have this problem? If so, was Costco any help in refunding the money?
Thanks
We just installed harvest oak in our entry hall, kitchen and eating area. Since this was my first time, not sure how to compare, but once I got the hang of it, it went very well. Looks great and appears to be very durable. Not sure what problems John had, I would highly recommend.
We used the Antique Hickory with the pad already attached. Ditto on putting it in in the summer. Much more time consuming, but just tap along and it works. This floor is beautiful. Looks like real wood, and totally transforms the area. We have it in the bathroom for two years and the kitchen since last fall, and it is still just perfect. It is a real bargain, and it is well worth the time to install it. I think the quality must have improved since the 2006 posters, as we have had no problems at all.
We just finished installing the Brazilian Cherry laminate in one room in our house. We made some noobie mistakes, but overall we are quite pleased with the appearance. Maybe John just got a bad batch? Most of our boards did slide in without too much muscle, but a few were a little harder. We had to side-tap them vs. clicking them in. We have 1,000 sq ft to go... it will be an ongoing project.
That's a bummer that you had such a rough time with it. It did take us a while to get the first 50 sqft or so, but once we got the hang of it, it went smoothly. We have had it almost a year now and it is still good as new!
I am sorry to say that the Harmonics laminate flooring I purchased at Costco is just to cheap, even at the $1.90 per sq ft it turned out to be. The surface looks good, but the planks are so cheaply constructed and the "uniclic" system so poorly implemented I would advise most people to stay away from this product. I purchased over 300 sq ft and after working with it for about 2 hours, I am returning it. I STRONGLY advise anyone interested to buy one box of planks first and play around with trying to assemble them. You will have spent around $45 but saved yourself a lot of problems down the road. And as far as a lot of the "good" reviews going around about Harmonics laminate, please take with a large pinch of salt. My experience: do-it-yourselfer with about 2000 sq ft of flooring experience on hardwood, laminate planks and tile.
