Harold Camping Predicts End of World

AmyBrowne
Judgment Day will soon be upon us according to Harold Camping and his followers. This date is not in 2012 but 2011! Are you making plans or do you not really feel the need to make final preparations for the rapture?

According to Harold Camping, the world will slip into its final days on May 21, 2011 and within a few months, the whole thing called life, as we know it will change. He puts the end day at October 21, 2011, which is going to make my sister very angry, as this is her birthday. With all due respect, I feel Mr. Harold Camping is wrong in his assertion that the world will be ending soon.

No one can predict with any degree of accuracy when the world will come crashing down upon us. No one knows how it will come down be it war, famine, or natural disaster. Books are written on this both fiction and non-fiction and all are best sellers, heck even the movies depict the end of the world. People are very interested in these books and movies for their own reasons, but I believe most of us realize the truth between fact and fiction.

Imagine if any of these doomsday books or movies predicted the real thing. Multiple fires, earthquake, massive tidal waves, disengaged poles and of course asteroids slamming into earth all bring in the customers. Those movies and books as much as they entertain us are fiction and nothing more thank God. Only God knows when the final days will come. I do not think God is whispering into Harold Camping's ears, not more then he is whispering in my ear.

Different people have been predicting the end of the world since at least the early eighties. I remember this one girl come running down the hall in high school crying because the world was ending that day in 1983. The world did not end on that day, nor was it hiding behind Haley's comet as Marshall Applegate told his followers. His followers committed a mass suicide out in California in 1997, you may remember this as his followers wore the same clothing, all the males were castrated, and all followers shaved their heads.

Will we see massive amounts of good-hearted people committing suicide or other careless acts because this news broke? I am sure Harold Camping and his followers believe their words, but I sincerely pray no one changes their lifestyles to some great degree expecting the world to end on May 21, 2011.

I don't think Camping could camp out underneath the celestial stars. I will bet you he is afraid to do that. Something will shut him up. We'll see!

Not much any of us can do to avert "the end of the world" so best to always keep life in order, love your loved ones, and go on living. And should Camping prove to be righr, what does he expect? Accolades? When it is over? It may have been from the book "On The Beach" I found a quote I liked: "Even if the world ends tomorrow I would plant a tree today".

The world has been ending for more years than I can remember. Everyone panicked at Y2K...I'll just keep on keeping on...
