Brandon Lynch and his family had dinner, then hurriedly packed their things. They dashed out the door and raced to the AMC Loews Boston Commons Movie Theatre in downtown Boston.

They walked in the door, only to find a mass of people trying to get into the new Harry Potter movie. There, they waited for quite some time before picking up their tickets from the ticket booth. After watching it, they exited the movie theatre, with nothing but smiles on their faces.

"I loved it." Bradon's father, Larry Lynch, said. "The special effects were awesome." Brandon and his family have anxiously awaited the release of the fifth movie for months. They have already reserved one of their very own copies of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and they just visited Loews Theatre Wednesday to see the movie.

But the Lynch family weren't the only ones who wanted to see the latest in the Harry Potter series. All around the globe, people are frantically trying to get tickets to see the fifth installment in J.K. Rowling's popular series, which premiered in theatres late Tuesday night. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has spurred much excitement and anticipation among Harry Potter fans and every day movie goers.

Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, the Harry Potter movies are based on the just as (if not more) popular book series authored by J.K. Rowling. Harry is an unlucky child victim to a cruel Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia. His parents have been killed by an evil Lord Voldemort, and now that he is attending Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, he may be able to fight back.

"It's already a really big hit." said Kenneth Ritter, a worker at Loews Theatre in Boston . Mr. Ritter was working at the theatre the night of the premier. "It was unusually crowded. People were getting really dressed up." People started to line up early Tuesday morning to be among the first ever to watch the blockbuster film. "By midnight, tickets were sold out and the lines went back to the walls."

But the premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix isn't the only explanation for the excitement fans are showing. At 7 p.m. July 20th, the festivities will start in Harvard Square. Harry and the Potters will be performing their "Wizard Rock" free of charge, and will continue to play up until the release of the seventh and final Harry Potter Book.

The final book in the Harry Potter series will be released at 12 p.m. midnight. Clark Smeltzer, worker at the Coop Bookstore, says the Coop has ordered 2,600 books so far. "They've taken the hype to another level." Says Smeltzer, referring to the excitement the fans have been showing prior to the release. And it's true; fans have taken the hype to another level.

Smeltzer states Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has caused the most excitement out of any of the other books in the series. Some people, like Suzanne W. even dressed up for the movie. In her freshly cleaned Gryffindor robes, Suzanne added to the Harry Potter spirit that lingered over Loews Theatre and every theatre worldwide.

The movies are fun and entertaining for all ages, and the books keep readers fascinated, curious, and in suspense for hours on end. "It's fun, relaxing reading." Says avid Harry Potter fanatic Joe Corkery. "The books are well written and the movies have been well made to date."

Mr. Corkery has been anxiously awaiting the Harry Potter 5 premier since it was announced. When he heard the movie was coming out, he wanted to see it as soon as possible. "I brought some friends along. They're somewhere in there." Corkery points to the hundreds of people that have massed around the ticket booth trying to get their Harry Potter tickets on the first floor of Loews Theatre.

The Harry Potter craze has swept the world, with hot new releases coming back to back. Fanatics are having the time of their lives while the movie is still fresh and new. The book is also being released, bringing music, fun and magic to cities like Cambridge. Once the movie gets old, production will continue. In the year 2008, the craze will start again as the sixth movie is released, hopefully bringing as much joy and excitement as the last.
